Mega Singing Session...

I went for this mega singing session with a friend last sat... we got a bit conned as the place was non aircon and loads of aunties and ladies from the 1950s.... we felt so out of place and even the songs that was in the program was not those that we normally would sing in the ktv... it felt like we had stepped back into the 1970s where open air cinemas were a fashionable thing...

Photobucket
here's the no of ppl who actually turned up and that is only one side of the amphitheatre... there's 3 sides, fyi..

Photobucket
chefs from ding tai feng, the chinese restaurant were there to sell food... ppl could get food and drinks from them and bring it to their seats.. it's free seating btw... and there were also ppl who would carry boxes of tidbits to sell along the aisles...

Photobucket
lyrics were projected onto the wall for the ease of the audience.. although the lyrics book were provided, the wording might just be a tad too small for the older generation...

we left about an hr later and headed towards safra jurong for a ktv session... it's got to be one of the best sessions that we had so far... 5 hrs of ktv with 2 drinks & tidbits and all for $20 nett.. cheap right? Of course the new club was also a beautiful place.. with the signature staircase, nice ponds and pools.. and a huge indoor playground for the kids... i bet the small one would love to go there...

we should go there and explore again.... :)

Weekend...

I slept late last night... really late.. was chatting online with a friend from india till almost 2am... then i updated my blog and decided that i didn't want to sleep yet *STILL!!* and I was waiting for somebody to call... but knowing full well he wouldn't call back, I called Gary instead... chatted for almost 2 hours before i called it quits...

Did I say I met Raymond for dinner and got home at about 1030? Then I got this sms from the flower guy... "Are u sure you do not wish to give us another shot? Flowers are still there for u" *sigh* I spoke to the friend from india and asked for advice... of cos, now my career comes first, i can't say i'm comfortable with the way my relationship is turning out now, but at least i can say i'm learning how to be a good gf... somebody has to give in more than another i guess... so although i feel i am putting in more now, i'm alright with it... as long as he knows, i'm fine... of cos there is also a limit... i wouldn't want to be doing everything for him.. a man has got to do what a man needs to in my belief... ironically, i read an article this morning saying that if ladies were to do everything for the guy, they would feel as if they are useless and it harms the relationship... anyway, i haven't replied him... not that i dun have a decision but i just want it to be a quiet decision which he can accept on his own...

I called gary and didn't say a single word on the phone with him... i just knew he was there and that was enough for me... it was support for me i guess... he went on talking rubbish over the phone, telling me about how Mabel nagged at him the other day for spending a lot of time at work, how his project is delayed bcos of a tiny glitch that happened... i know what he wanted to do... to fill the space or void that i have now... when i finally spoke, i broke down... i was upset at the death of a cat feeder lady sometime this week, worried about the cats, freaked out at the encounter with the spirit of the cat feeder lady one day after she was cremated, stressed at work but kept a bravefront, hated the fact that i couldn't say no to the flower guy to the extent that it hurts him bad enought to back off and i just needed somebody to give me an outlet to break down... he listened to me for the next 45 mins.... just for me to rant everything out... yes, this is how we communicate sometimes... we take turns to talk...

i woke up this morning to find this fella in this sleeping position...
Photobucket
He was happily sleeping on my leg, using it as a pillow.. although i think it is rather hard... but as long as he's happy...

start of the weekend babe... time to spend more time with yourself... who cares if he doesn't call or sms... it's not as if i will die without him around...

International Museum Day

May 31 marks International Museum Day... and some museums in Singapore have free admissions on this day... so Carol and I decided to pop by the Singapore Philatelic Museum for a visit... we met at YMCA for lunch and then took a bus to the Musuem...

The moment we stepped in, we saw this:
Photobucket
Tikam Tikam, a game very popular during the times before I was born... you pay a certain amount of money to pull one strip of paper off the board and the number written inside will mean you have won a certain prize... it's like a sure win game lor!

Photobucket
At the museum, they're showcasing Vietnam and they have this Vietnam food tasting session... well, I think Carol chose this museum because of this... hahah

Photobucket
Vietnam salad

Photobucket
Vietnam rice paper roll

Photobucket
Postcards from Vietnam.. pretty and colourful!

Photobucket
Me & the mailing post from Hong Kong.. I like them for some weird reason...

Photobucket
Carol with the traditional hat from Vietnam...

Besides the Vietnam showcase, they also have the Rats exhibition that's ongoing because it's the year of the Rat...

Photobucket
We found this adorable little fella talking to us as we were climbing the stairs...

Photobucket
He's walking a bit too fast for us to catch up!!

Photobucket
But we still managed to catch up... phew!

Photobucket
The start of the exhibition

Photobucket
Oops, meow meow and boy boy can't come in!

Photobucket
The set up

Photobucket
We saw some mice watching our every move...

We wandered out of the exhibition and move into the rustic feel of this...

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

And we found the old style uncle barber...
Photobucket

Oh, we managed to find some new shoes there too...
Photobucket
Before

Photobucket
After

We did more wandering... and found another mailing box!!
Photobucket

Then we found this adorable scooter that our uncle postmen used to ride..
Photobucket
Photobucket

Then we absolutely loved this stamp machine!!
Photobucket
The mischievious look

Photobucket
We can be demure too...

And I found this shelf of international mailing boxes for sale!!
Photobucket

So we shopped around the museum for a while and it was pouring... so we called a cab and got on our way home... We shall go the coming year again ya?

My exciting weekend..

After a peaceful friday, I started my weekend with my aunties... *how exciting!!!* My mom and my aunties and uncles meet prob once a month to go for their regular "shopping" cum eating trip at chinatown... and me.. i'm the carrier... plastic bags carrier, food carrier and all other things that they require me to do... it's not too bad cos that's the only time i spend with them since we dun meet much... and i do get to know where are the good food in chinatown... hehe... also, i think my mom uses me to show off to them that she at least has one kid who will still go shopping with her... my cousins all basically couldn't be bothered or simply tell my aunts to pack the food back for them.. *spoilt brats!!*

So after a round of shopping for chinese herbs and stuff, I found myself at the newly opened chinatown market, queuing for the ever famous duck porridge... took me half an hour lor!!!! So we had the ikan billis yong tau foo, the duck porridge and the you tiao... quite a filling lunch...

After that, I met up with the lee junki- singapore fanclub ladies.. all four of them... we had such a happy time chatting about the funny incidents that one of them encountered when she was in korea visiting junki when he was filming... also we chatted about how fanatic some of the fans were... and also about how some of the users on the forum were fighting over some trivial issues... sometimes i think it's hard to have just a simple world where everyone is just happy with each other and just there for one motive... anyway, despite all that, we were so happy that we managed to find time to meet up and just get to know each other... imagine, we chatted non stop for 5 hours!!!

Later at home, the small one came over cos my brother was picking up my sister in law who had gone to meet her friends for a dinner session... it's nice seeing the small one grow each day... now he knows how to recognise faces and how to extend his arms when he wants a hug from me... brought him downstairs to get some ice cream... *of course not for him! It's for me!* he was so fascinated about the lights and the shop lady who was calling him... hehehe...

Sunday was a peaceful day... was meeting Malcolm in the early afternoon to visit the "cats of the world II" exhibition... really small exhibition but we had a nice time viewing the pics and admiring the cats that were featured... here's some of the pics...

Photobucket
If only I could reach a little more...

Photobucket
Ugly duckling

Photobucket
Where are we going?

Photobucket
My favourite- want a cab?

Photobucket
Another favourite and it should mean something to somebody *check out that cat's look!!*
- Third Party

After that, Malcolm and I had a great time catching up with each other. We haven't seen each other in ages! And yes, I think we all miss the fun days when we were in CWS... those were the days....

After that, I headed to Chinatown again to pick up some stuff that mom wanted and bumped into somebody unpleasant... well, when it's over, it's over...

So that's my exciting weekend!

......

Another post with no title... the weekend has been long.... with vesak day falling on monday.. it's a long long weekend... so lonely to spend a long weekend alone... i could almost hear my two cats singing, " lonely, she is so lonely!!"

Mr Sharma had gone on a trip with his team and most of my friends were out on their short trips... why am i still stuck here?! URGH!!!!

Anyway, I went for this free hairstyling session... he's basically a trainee in one of the more prestigious salon... and he needs ppl to let him style their hair for his training purposes.. so I went... he's a cute guy...cuter than *ahem*... he did a sample of perm for me... looks good ok... maybe i should do that the next time my hair is longer...

then, what else did i do? we brought the small one to the airport... to see the planes and to bring my parents to see the new terminal... well, the new terminal brought back memories and looking at the departures and arrivals schedule, i wish i was on the plane as well....sigh....

basically, the whole long weekend, i was out of the house... just hanging around somewhere with friends or myself... like a little butterfly.. met new ppl, got to know ppl better... and got hot and sweaty thanks to the weather...

but i still think it's a boring weekend... esp when this is the last public holiday we will have until national day.. which is in august... bah!!!

Sometime for myself...

A long irritating, dirty, sweaty week... i decided i wanted to go for my long overdue pedicure... i've been patronising this particular place for my pedicure for the past 7 years... i still remember that i ventured into this place sometime after my breakup... wanting to find a reason to surround myself with females who will understand me and keep me occupied, i started on my regime of pedicure and manicure... over there, i made good friends who knew my story, who saw me with various jobs and various men who came with me... and for the ladies who work there, they know me as a 3 mth girl... i would visit them only once every 3 mths, doing pedicure and getting myself into various crazy nail art as recommended by them... they would often comment that my nails are beautiful enough for any colour and any nail art... so sometimes they would do it on my nails for free just to make themselves happy...

ever since i started to take a pay cut, i've lengthened my period of visit from 3 mths to 4 mths... and this time round, it's a whooping 6 mths... if not because of heavy boxes and intensive walking, i didn't think i would need to go for another 2 mths... oh well.. it's good to give my legs some good pampering....

Photobucket
that's fiona and my poor feet...

i had a great time there... chatting with the ladies there and catching up with them... and of cos, my feet had a great time there too...

then as i head home... i got myself a bunch of flowers...

Photobucket
as a form of encouragement and appreciation for myself... it's not a big deal not to have ppl send u flowers... u can always buy them yourself... gives the same amount of joy for me i guess... but looking at this bunch of flowers reminds me of another bunch that i rejected.... me bad ah....

oh, and here's something i took on tuesday when i was out getting some stuff for the office...
Photobucket
looks like me hor? big panda eyes and looking so childlike... =) I think he looks cute....

and the other day i went movie with hui... and we saw this at carrefour...

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
they are LCD tv with cute animal covers... ooooo... so adorable!!! I want!!!! and they dun come cheap alright? cost a whooping $399 ok!

time to prepare myself for work again.... back to my boxes and packing... hopefully something better comes along the way...

Starting from Friday

Thursday I was notified that I am needed for a corporate teambuilding event at Sentosa... so last minute I was pulled into the briefing and was expected to report at Vivo City at 8am the next day...

It was a freaking hot day at Sentosa!!! I was a bit charred, bitten by a lot of mosquitoes, sweaty and sticky and highly irritated, due to the heat... still I remembered that somebody hadn't come to Sentosa before and was so resolved to come to Sentosa when he is in town the next time round... I took some pictures of the places that I visited on my little hike at Sentosa...

Photobucket VivoCity Sentosa station

after the sentosa event, I was 1 hr late in meeting my buddies from Symantec... they were sweet enough to meet me at Vivocity instead of Cityhall... and I'm grateful for that cos otherwise, my poor feet would have given way....

here's the gang...
Photobucket
Jean, shan, me, Raymond & Felix

Photobucket
the actual team that I worked with in Symantec....

Photobucket
Eeyore, Piglet & Tigger

Photobucket
the ever comical Raymond

Photobucket
Me, Shan & Felix

Shan & me were Tac team-mates in Symantec... till now, we talk in unison at the exact same timing. Jean belongs to consulting finance who works closely with us... we always call her the third party between me and shan.. hehe... Raymond is our IT guy who supports us and stuck to us since Day 1 when he joined... he's somebody whom I go to whenever I need to rant about anything... a goody guy... Felix is Shan's bf....he joins us at almost each meet up and is now a good buddy of Raymond...

It's a great time hanging out with them... they make me forget my worries and allow me to be the goofy me...and all of us have the same hobby of playing Pig Pile!!! We are close because we shared a lot of good and bad times together in Symantec... helping out each other and holding each other when we fall... those were the times... =)

So that's my aching Friday, filled with sore feet and aching sides from numerous laughter bouts...

Saturday was quite a nice relaxing day.... this is what I did...
Photobucket
watched tv with boy boy sitting on my lap... a true bliss...
I went out for a mini shopping trip to get something to surprise somebody...just as I was about to get home, I got a text msg from one of my ex colleagues, asking if I was free to meet for a short coffee session at my place... alrighty... met him for a short coffee session and he turned up with a bunch of beautiful flowers meant for me... *shocked look* "oops, did i give you the wrong idea? " I asked him and obviously caused him to have an embarrassed look... As somethings have changed in my life, I insisted that he took the flowers home and give it to somebody else more worthy... phew... but it's nice to be given flowers once in a while...

Sunday was a day where I spent time with my daughter.... isn't she a pretty girl?
Photobucket

Photobucketshe's sniffing my camera.. and oh yes, that's her portrait at the back

Photobucket sitting on my lap and having a nice quiet time with me...

Photobuckether sister, Cleo....

Photobucket obviously I must have tired her out....

I met YB for a short coffee session as well in the evening... it turns out the both of us were wearing green and looked like a couple.. ppl at starbucks were asking me if we were in the couple mood... well, my face turned green... *puke puke* with YB? nah.... not my type...

ok.. gotta go to bed now.. got a long day at work tomorrow.... =)
